Terms of Use

These terms govern use of Dakota County Court Docket, a private reference resource. By using the resource, a visitor accepts these terms. Dakota County Court Docket is not Dakota County District Court, Court Administration, Minnesota Court Records Online, the Minnesota Court of Appeals, or any other government office. Official judicial records and current court instructions come from the Minnesota Judicial Branch and Dakota County District Court Court Administration.

NO FCRA USE. Dakota County Court Docket is privately operated and has no affiliation with a government agency or court. It is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither this resource nor its advertising partners may be used for credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The resource identifies court-record access channels and does not provide consumer reports.

1. What This Website Is

Dakota County Court Docket is a private reference resource. It does not hold the official docket, court calendar, case file, or certified copy. It points to the public channels used for Dakota County District Court records, including MCRO, courthouse access, the daily calendar, and Court Administration.

Court Administration is the local judicial records contact for Dakota County. It maintains case files and registers of actions, receives filings, routes division questions, processes copies and certifications, and coordinates calendars. The resource cannot perform those functions or act for the court.

2. Informational Use Only

Material on the resource is general information, not an official judicial record, court order, or legal opinion. Court dates can move, cases can be sealed or amended, and remote access can differ from courthouse access. Verify a Dakota County docket, hearing, fee, or filing requirement with Court Administration or the official Minnesota Judicial Branch source before relying on it.

3. Rules for Using This Site

Visitors agree not to misuse the resource or information obtained through it.

  • Do not violate federal, Minnesota, or local law while using the resource.
  • Do not use information to harass, threaten, stalk, or harm another person.
  • Do not use content for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other FCRA-regulated decisions.
  • Do not attempt unauthorized access to the resource, its providers, or government systems.
  • Do not run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against the resource.
  • Do not interfere with availability or other visitors’ use of the resource.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Dakota County Court Docket is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not prepare background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. Information from this resource and any third-party advertising service may not be used to decide whether to extend credit, employ someone, evaluate a tenancy, underwrite insurance, issue a license, or make another FCRA-regulated determination.

5. No Legal Advice

The resource does not provide legal advice. It cannot interpret how a Dakota County charge, court order, deadline, or procedural rule applies to an individual matter. A visitor needing advice about a pending case, appeal to the Minnesota Court of Appeals, filing, or hearing should consult a licensed Minnesota attorney or the official court’s procedural resources.

6. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed

Information is provided as available without a promise that it is complete, current, uninterrupted, or error-free. Court Administration contacts, fees, locations, access rules, division assignments, and calendar settings can change. Third-party advertising results may also be incomplete or incorrectly matched.

Dakota County’s daily calendar can be updated during business hours and does not include all matters. MCRO is a public search channel, not the complete official record. Use the official court page, courthouse terminal, or Court Administration to verify information that matters.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to Minnesota Judicial Branch pages, MCRO, Dakota County court resources, municipal sources, and third-party advertising services. Outside providers control their own content, availability, privacy practices, and charges. A link is not an endorsement, and no outside service can replace a certified record issued by Court Administration.

8. Intellectual Property

The resource’s text, design, graphics, code, and branding are protected by applicable law and belong to Dakota County Court Docket or its content providers. They may not be copied, distributed, modified, or used to create derivative material without permission, except as law permits.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Dakota County Court Docket is not liable for damages arising from use of the resource, reliance on its general information, or use of a linked service. Verification with the originating court or clerk remains the visitor’s responsibility.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to indemnify and hold Dakota County Court Docket harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from the visitor’s misuse of the resource or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Minnesota law. Any dispute connected with the resource must be brought in a court with appropriate jurisdiction in Minnesota, unless another law requires a different forum.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated when operations, providers, or legal requirements change. Continued use after an updated version is posted means the visitor accepts the updated terms.
